The marketing campaign for The Dark Knight Rises started up again today with a campaign that has revealed frame by frame the new trailer. The trailer, to be released in theaters with Avengers this week can be seen (but not heard) in a GIF that has been assembled here. The official trailer is expected to go live on The Dark Knight Rises site later this week. The GiF trailer includes footage from the previous trailers as well the prologue that debuted in late last year showing Bane hijacking a plane. There is new footage - Joseph Gordon Levitt has much more face time in this trailer and there is some new footage of Bane as well. And there are is new footage of both Anne Hathaway and Marion Cotillard (although the ration is like 20-1).
Some stills from the trailer with Hathaway after the cut.
During the Boston Comic Con this past weekend I chatted with artist Kevin Maguire about the upcoming Worlds’ Finest title that he is penciling. The book will co-feature Helena Wayne and Karen Starr aka Huntress and Power Girl with pencils by George Perez. The team will also be drawn in their years as Robin and Supergirl on Earth 2 by Maguire.
I mentioned to Maguire the outcry by some fans about the change in Power Girl’s costume (which I fessed up Maguire as calling as out ugly). He reiterated that he didn’t design it and that his only contribution was suggesting it be white. I’ve written about my feelings about losing the old costume here).
He did, however, have input on Helena’s Robin costume which is, in my opinion, one of the best female costume designs of the new 52 drawing on the classic elements of the Robin costume. I like that it could easily being worn by any of the male Robins with minor modifications. Maguire showed me four pages of Worlds’ Finest artwork he had with him at the show and you can get a look at some of it (avoid if you don’t like spoilers) after the cut.
This week at SAW for ARTWALK!
Jennifer Mercer, Rachel Pandich and the Womanthology book will be there signing books, plus Womanthology art from former Tom Hart students as well as little-seen art from the SAW permanent collection.

This afternoon at the Boston Comic Con a number of creators in the new 52 discussed various aspects of the reboot while confirming the story from Bleeding Cool earlier this week that DC will issue “0” issues in September that will feature origins or stories about the characters or their casts that happened before issue #1.
The confirmation came during a fast paced hour of discussion that included Jamal Igle (The Ray), Cliff Chiang (Wonder Woman), Ivan Reis and Joe Prado (Aquaman) and Francis Manapul (The Flash). At one point there seemed to be some confusion about whether it had been officially announced by DC. Reis and Prado admitted they had just heard about it.
But there was a lot of information other than September’s “0” issues covered during the panel and you can read it all after the cut.
