The Seminole State College Library will host a celebration promoting a culture of literacy through comics and other graphic novels Thursday, June 13, at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Theatre (building G) on the Sanford/Lake Mary Campus.

Superman Event is tomorrow night! Please come out to this awesome event tomorrow evening! It’s for everyone and you can learn about the Man of Steel, how comics and graphic novels promote literacy, AND win prizes. After doing a webinar about graphic novels in libraries, I learned that DC Comics was going to have a Superman Event at the Library to promote the Man of Steel film as well as literacy. So I proposed a Superman Event at my job (which is a state college library) and with the help of the dean, my supervisors, and coworkers we’re going to have our event on Thursday June 13th! While the Smallville TV show included a number of familiar DC faces, the two other members of the Trinity were not seen. But the the spinoff comic Smallville Season 11 has been fixing that. Batman made his debut in the comic last year and now in an upcoming arc, so will Wonder Woman.
